Alterna shampoos are great Aug 19, 2010
I used this shampoo, and it does give the hair a lot of volume, however, I prefer the Alterna Cavial Anti-Aging Moisture shampoo, as it hydrates the hair and leaves it extremely soft, smooth and shiny.
Overall, Alterna makes the best shampoos, they just work great for me and couple of my friends who I also recommended to try them, are absolutely in love with Alterna.
One friend said - maybe you do expect a lot from the shampoo and at first do not notice any results due to those expectations, but when you try to switch to another brand shampoo, you can tell right away how great Alterna was for your hair actually.

My husband bought this shampoo/conditioner for me as a surprise for my birthday, and I couldn't BELIEVE how much money he spent. I figured it would be a "miracle" shampoo...boy was I wrong! This shampoo is incredibly thick, yet it doesn't later at all. I don't have problem hair. It's very run-of-the-mill: color-treated, curly-ish, but not dry or damaged. I used a normal amount of shampoo, and it wouldn't lather enough to cover the top of my head, yet the packaging says it's "concentrated." The shampoo NEVER rinses clean. I could stand under the shower head for 10 or more minutes and still not feel like it's completely rinsed out of my hair. After "rinsing," my hair feels absolutely disgusting...almost like I've used Suave or another really cheap shampoo. The Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Volume Conditioner is even worse. It doesn't leave my hair soft or manageable. Rather, it leaves my hair full of tangles, dry, and dull. I've yet to use my straightener since using these products for fear that I will completely damage my hair. This is still not even the worst of it. Since I've started using these products, I've had the worst scalp itch of my life, which is due to the build-up left on my scalp since it NEVER rinses clean. Do yourself a favor, do NOT buy these products. You can have a much higher quality but less expensive experience with Joico, Kenra, Pureology, Aveda, etc...don't waste your money on this over-priced, overrated junk!!

My hairdresser recommended this shampoo and the conditioner. I got sticker-shock when I saw the price but I was too embarrassed to back out of the purchase. I'm glad I gave it a try. My husband actually insisted I order this product because of the difference t makes on my hair. My hair looks much less dry with this product. My husband is now using it too

Best shampoo, to date, that I have ever used. I recently let my daughter try it and she loved it! I first purchased it from a beauty salon, but the best price I have found on it is here at Amazon. It does not strip hair color as other shampoos do. Great product!
